비전
마땅히 행할 길을 아이에게 가르치라 그리하면 늙어도 그것을 떠나지 아니하리라 – 잠언 22:6 –
1. 예배
우리의 중점은 예배입니다. 우리의 목표는 학생들에게 온 몸과 마음과 힘을 다하여 하나님을 사랑하는 것을 가르치는 것입니다. 하나님을 전심으로 사랑하는 것은 참된 예배를 통해서만 가능합니다. 우리는 우리의 하늘 아버지께 모든 찬양과 경배, 영광을 돌리기 위해 모입니다.
2. 씨뿌리기
우리는 하나님 말씀 안에서 믿음의 기본을 가르칩니다. 더 나아가 우리는 예수 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 한 가족임을 강조합니다. 우리는 학생들이 우주적인 하나님의 나라의 비전을 갖기 원합니다.
3. 창조적 믿음 (마 25:14-30)
달란트 비유에 보면 하나님께서 그의 종들에게 각기 다른 양의 달란트를 나누어 주십니다. 그 종들은 청지기로써 하나님이 맡겨 주신 것을 성실하게 감당하도록 부름받았습니다. 선하고 성실한 종들은 자신들에게 맡겨진 달란트를 배가시켰습니다. 그 종들은 주인의 마음을 알고 행했습니다. 그리고 그것은 그들의 창조적 섬김을 통해서 이루어졌습니다. 우리들도 우리의 주인을 창조적인 믿음으로 섬기도록 부름받았습니다.
학생회 활동
토요 친교 모임
함께 영화를 보든가, 혹은 배구를 하던가 모든 토요 모임은 그리스도 안의 교제로 이루어집니다. 모든 활동들은 그냥 시간을 소모하거나 재미있게 노는 것이 아니라 우리 구주이신 예수 그리스도의 지체들과 교제를 나누는 것입니다. 토요 모임에는 영화, 볼링, 피크닉, 보드 게임, 그레잇 어드벤쳐, 래프팅, 배구 등 다양한 활동을 합니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 만난 친구들은 다른 친구들과 달리 평생을 가는 좋은 관계를 유지합니다.
배구
배구는 우리 예일 학생회의 자랑이며 중요한 전통입니다. 우리는 배구를 통해서 협동심을 키우며 함께 즐깁니다. 우리는 매년 2회 교협 메모리얼 대회와 프린스톤 대회에 참여합니다. 예일 학생들은 누구나 훈련을 거쳐 팀에 참여할 수 있습니다. 훈련을 받거나, 대회에서 우승을 하거나 아니면 그냥 즐기든지에 관계없이 배구는 예일의 가장 사랑받는 활동입니다.
수련회
예일 학생회는 여름과 겨울 일년에 두번 수련회를 갑니다. 우리는 수련회를 통해서 하나님과 더 가까워지며 하나님을 만나기 원합니다. 수련회는 매일 아침 큐티로 하루 일과를 시작하며 아침과 저녁 두번의 예배 그리고 밤에는 기도회로 마칩니다. 또한 수련회 전 일정을 통해서 그리스도 안의 교제에 힘씁니다. 모든 활동은 팀으로 이루어지며 각종 게임과 활동들을 통해 선의의 경쟁을 합니다. 우승팀은 수련회 후에 외식이 포상으로 주어집니다. 수련회는 하나님과 친구들과의 화해 그리고 말씀과 기도를 통한 믿듬 성장의 시간입니다.
Praise Night
Praise Night은 예일 학생회가 주최하는 연중 행사입니다. Praise Night은 우리에게 행하신 하나님의 놀라운 일들 찬양하는 시간입니다. 학생들은 다양한 방법으로 Praise Night에 참여할 수 있습니다. Praise Night은 찬양, 바디 워십, 드라마 등으로 이루어져 있으며 또한 달란트에 따라 본인 만의 독특한 방법으로 참여하며 섬길 수도 있습니다.
Group Workcamps
Group Workcamps 는 그룹이라는 비영리 단체에 의해 설립된 단기 선교 프로그램입니다. Group Workcamps 일주일간 진행되며 교파와 인종을 초월하여 참여자들이 함께 일하며 하나님을 섬기는 기회입니다. 이 기간동안 학생들은 4-5명의 낯선 사람들과 한조가 되어 배당받은 장소에서 집수리를 하게 됩니다. 학생들은 페인팅, 목공일, 지붕 수리 등 다양한 일을 합니다. Group Workcamps를 통해서 학생들은 새로운 친구들을 만날뿐 아니라 하나님과 더욱 가까워지는 경험을 합니다.
여름 단기선교
예일 교회는 매년 단기선교팀을 파송합니다. 그동안 우리는 볼리비아, 니카라과, 케냐, 필리핀 등에 선교팀을 파송했습니다. 단기선교를 위해 학생들은 몇달동안 찬양, 무언극, 바디워십 등을 연습합니다. 또한 선교지의 언어, 문화 등을 공부합니다. 단기선교를 나가기 전 참여자들은 선교 수련회를 통해서 함께 기도하며 한 마음으로 다져집니다. 선교는 열악한 환경가운데 살아가고 있는 많은 사람들을 만나고 그들과 그리스도안에서 사랑을 나눌 수 있는 좋은 기회입니다. 선교를 통해서 우리는 새로운 것들을 배우고 경험하며 새로운 친구들을 만듭니다. 그리고 가장 좋은 것은 하나님과 한 걸음 더 가까워지는 영적 성장입니다.

1. Worship
Our sole focus is to worship! Our goal is to teach our students to love God with all their hearts, soul, mind and strength. It is in those moments that we are able to worship genuinely. We gather in order to give all the praise, honor, and glory to our Father in Heaven.
2. Sowing Seeds
We look to teach the basic foundational articles of faith, which is found in God’s Word. Taking it a step further, we emphasize that through Jesus Christ, we are part of God’s family! We want our students to have a WORLDWIDE VISION of God’s kingdom.
3. Creatively Faithful (Mathew 25:14-30)
According to the Parable of the Talents, God bestows a number of talents upon each of His servants. Those servants are asked to be stewards of those talents and to be faithful to who God is. The good and faithful servants respond by doubling the money that they were in charge of. They knew their Master’s heart and responded. It takes creativity to do what they did. We are called to do the same- to be creative faithfully to our Master.
Activities
Saturday Fellowship Meetings
Whether we’re going to the movies or playing volleyball, Saturday meetings are built on fellowship. These meetings are not geared towards hanging out or wasting time but to have fellowship with the body of Christ, our Savior. Movies, bowling, picnics, board game competitions, Six Flags, rafting, volleyball, etc. are some of our Saturday activities. When you make friends through Christ, your bond with that person is an eternal bond, considerably more significant than a normal friend.
Volleyball
Volleyball is an important sport and tradition when it comes to Yale Youth Group. We participate in this sport to encourage teamwork and fun. We participate for 2 annual volleyball tournaments: Memorial Tournament and Princeton volleyball tournament. We are always open to include more members in this activity. Whether to learn, win, or just have fun, we incorporate volleyball as a year-round youth group activity.
Retreats
The Youth Group goes on retreats twice a year: during summer vacation and Christmas break. Our general purpose for to get closer to God and meet Him there. We have quiet time before our day starts, morning worship, evening worship, and prayer meetings at night. During retreats we strive to have fellowship. We get divided into teams and as teams compete in various games and activities. Winners of the activities at retreat eat out as a team. Retreats are a time to reconcile with God, with our friends, and growing in faith through hearing God’s Word and praying.
Praise Night
Praise Night is an annual event, hosted by the youth group. It is a time where we praise God for all that He’s done for us. There are multiple outlets in which one can participate in this event. If you wish, you can set-up your own segment during this praise night. However, there is always a praise section, body worship, and a presentation by the drama team. For weeks, we practice diligently for this event in order to present something worthy to God. Praise Night is a blessful event, with which you can always learn from the skits, testimonies, and sermons.
Group Workcamps
Workcamps is a short-term missions trip, that was founded by the non-profit Christian organization called Group. It is a week long program, and is a great opportunity to serve God and work with other people from different denominations. During this week of Workcamp, you are assigned to a crew in which you are paired up with 4 or 5 strangers. For 5 days, you report to a worksite to help residents fix their houses. There are various jobs that you may be assigned such as painting, carpentry, roofing, etc. Through this experience you meet strangers that quickly turn into your friends and most importantly, you grow closer to God.
Short-term Missions
Every year YaleChurch sends a team on a short-term mission trip. In previous years, our church has sent teams to Bolivia, Nicaragua, Kenya, the Philippines and more. For several months the team practices new songs, pantomimes, and body worships to present to the people there. Also learning about the culture and language of the country they are going to is required. Before the mission trip the team goes on a short retreat to pray and to get united. Missions is also a good opportunity to visit people that live in conditions that you have never imagined of. For these several months you get to learn new things, experience a lot and make new friends. And best of all- you can grow spiritually a step closer to God.
